Twitterati blame Anushka Sharma for India's loss
Some of Team India fans have gone bonkers on social media blaming Anushka Sharma for Virat Kohli's batting woes.
SYDNEY: With India's World Cup dreams dashed, some of Team India fans have gone bonkers on social media blaming Anushka Sharma for Virat Kohli's batting woes.
India's star batsman lasted just 13 balls before he attempted to pull paceman Mitchell Johnson only to loft a catch for wicketkeeper Brad Haddin in the 16th over.
Kohli's girlfriend Anushka Sharma looked on glumly in the stands as India lost wickets in a jiffy.
But fans took to Twitter to vent their ire, taking potshots at Anushka Sharma as if she is to be blamed for the loss.
Here's are a few tweets:
Not really blaming Anushka, but it's always a bad idea to increase pressure on someone you love by being in the stands in a crucial match

I feel sorry for Anushka. To go Down Under to see VIRAT go down under must be heart-wrenching. She could have easily seen him at home.

The worst fraternity of this era is MEDIA.They will poke at Anushka now and call it a shame in Australia if the team didn't win. @TimesNow

And now some tweets that were absolutlely tasteless:
I request to all the people to go n throw stones at the house of Anushka Sharma who is the main reason for the defeat of India. #AUSvIND
