Milan give triple injury update ahead of Juventus clash
Milan’s 2-1 comeback win over Como took a toll on the Rossoneri squad’s fitness, leaving one of their stars in doubt for their away trip to Juventus next weekend, with one defender already sure of missing Saturday’s big match.
Christian Pulisic, Alvaro Morata and Malick Thiaw were all forced off during the second half of their side’s clash at the Stadio Sinigaglia on Tuesday, leaving coach Sergio Conceição concerned just a few days before another head-to-head with the Bianconeri after their meeting in Supercoppa Italiana.
Milan give update on Thiaw, Pulisic and Morata conditions
The centre-back picked up the most serious injury, as Sky Sport Italia revealed that medical tests highlighted a left hamstring lesion, meaning he will have to undergo further checks in 7-10 days.
As a result, he’ll certainly be ruled out of the Rossoneri’s showdown at the Allianz Stadium and their final two Champions League fixture, with a risk of also missing the Derby della Madonnina against Inter on 2 February.
However, they could breathe a sigh of relief for Pulisic and Morata, as examinations ruled out any muscular lesion in both cases.
That will not change things as far as the Spaniard is concerned, as he will still miss the game against his former club due to suspension after picking up a yellow card at Como.
Milan will likely monitor Pulisic’s fitness day by day to assess whether he can fully recover before Saturday.
