Manchester United are expected to be busy in the summer transfer window and they could also see an unlikely star return at the end of the season
LONDON (AP) â Aleksandar Mitrovic could face an extended ban after his furious reaction to being sent off in Fulham's loss to Manchester United on Sunday. The English Football Association said on Monday the standard three-game suspension for a straight red card was "clearly insufficient." The Fulham striker reacted angrily when Willian was sent off for handling Jadon Sancho's goalbound shot in United's 3-1 win in the FA Cup quarterfinals. Mitrovic then further remonstrated with referee Chris Kav
Mitrovic gave Fulham the lead in Sunday's FA Cup quarter-final at Old Trafford but was sent off after trying to grab referee Chris Kavanagh's arm during a chaotic couple of minutes. Willian and head coach Marco Silva were also given their marching orders during that period but it is the conduct of Mitrovic in Fulham's 3-1 defeat that has come under particular scrutiny. Fulham have been charged by the FA with failing to "ensure its players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion", while Silva has been accused of several misdemeanours.
Man Utd have been told that they would be able to snatch Martin Odegaard or Bukayo Saka away from Arsenal if Sheikh Jassim buys the club before this summer.
