San Joaquin County restricts river swimming amid snowmelt

The San Joaquin River continues to see rising water levels in some areas due to ongoing snowmelt, and emergency officials are warning about possible dangers for any people wanting to go outdoors. Officials with the San Joaquin County Office of Emergency said a stretch along waterways in Lathrop, including Mossdale Landing and the Dos Reis Campgrounds, are currently restricting water activity such as swimming and boating while safety concerns exist. Tiffany Heyer, the San Joaquin County OES director, especially noted concern over the south part of the river.
