Wild Place Jonas Brodin On LTIR, Kirill Kaprizov On IR

The Minnesota Wild have made a few roster moves following the injury news. Defenseman Jonas Brodin has been placed on Long-Term Injury Reserve and forward Kirill Kaprizov has been placed on Injured Reserve.

Brodin, 31, has missed the last nine games with a lower-body injury following a blocked shot in a game against the St. Louis Blues where he skated in 32 minutes and 42 seconds a few weeks ago.

He did not travel with the team for the road trip. If this injury lasts longer, Brodin might have to miss the 4 Nations Tournament.

Kaprizov, 27, has 23 goals, 29 assists, and 52 points in 37 games this year for the Wild. He missed 12 games earlier with a lower-body injury but did return to the lineup last week.

He had two assists in three games and last played on Sunday against the Chicago Blackhawks. The Wild felt it was time for Kaprizov to get surgery so he can get back to 100 percent health before the season ends.

The Wild have also recalled forward Ben Jones from Iowa.
