Two detained in suspected drugging and robbery of British World Cup reporter
Two men have been detained in Moscow under suspicion of drugging and robbing a British World cup reporter, Russian news agency TASS reported Saturday.
The journalist reportedly drank a drugged cup of coffee, lost consciousness, and then was robbed Friday. He woke up to find his cell phone and credit cards missing.
“As a result of the search operation, a suspect in the robbery of a British national has been detained. Yesterday, the British national reported to the police that he had been robbed in a taxi,” Spokeswoman for the Russian Interior Ministry Irina Volk said Saturday. “As a result of the search operation, officers of the criminal police found the car which the man had taken and one of the suspects had been detained. He is now being questioned.”
The second suspect was detained later Saturday, according to Russian news agency Interfax.
Another reporter for a British outlet, Irishman Miguel Delaney, tweeted Saturday that his phone was stolen.
Got jumped and phone robbed last night – only bad experience I've had here, just a graze, and everyone very helpful since.
Temporarily had no access to twitter – for the best, says you, ha.

He said he otherwise has had a positive experience in Russia.
