The 2017 National Signing Day All-Name Team is headlined by Kobe Buffalomeat

Kobe Buffalomeat became quite famous on National Signing Day.

The Lawrence, Kansas, offensive lineman committed to FCS Illinois State on Wednesday. Not long after the team tweeted out his commitment, Buffalomeat’s awesome name even got him noticed by the sketch comedy show Key and Peele.

Buffalomeat took all the attention about his name in stride and even retweeted a tweet from DiGiorno Pizza.

His father explained his son’s name to the Chicago Tribune.

Ray Buffalomeat said his son, named after Kobe Bryant, is roughly one-quarter Cheyenne/Arapaho, one-quarter Cherokee, one-quarter Choctaw and one-quarter white.

While Buffalomeat leads our 2017 National Signing Day All-Name team, he’s got some pretty good name teammates. Below are our picks for the best names among the signees in the class of 2017.
