As the St. Louis Blues’ Stanley Cup celebration continues, a quick trip to Busch Stadium was only to be expected.

Patrick Maroon, Alex Pietrangelo and Conn Smythe winner Ryan O’Reilly brought the Cup with them as they visited with the St. Louis Cardinals ahead of their game against the Oakland Athletics on Wednesday night. It’s not exactly a groundbreaking exercise for a championship team, but sharing your title with the other major sports teams in the city is pretty much a rite of passage in professional sports.

The Cardinals, who won the World Series back in 2011, had their own trophy to pair up with the Blues’ Cup.

O’Reilly, who was tabbed to throw out the first pitch, got some reps in ahead of his big moment.

Love a good high-kick and the effort was admirable, even if O’Reilly did skip it in the dirt before the ball landed in the catcher’s mitt.

But it’s far from the worst effort we’ve seen (cough 50 Cent cough) and if the Cup celebration is still alive and well, you can probably assume O’Reilly had a few cold ones before he took the mound.
