The Penguins honoured Humboldt Broncos forward Brayden Camrud during Game 3 of the Eastern Conference semifinals between Pittsburgh and the Washington Capitals.

It was a touching moment and kind gesture by the Penguins and former winger Colby Armstrong, a Saskatchewan native, to invite Camrud to take in the game.

It’s the second time in as many weeks an NHL team has honoured a member of the Broncos. On April 21, the Jets hosted Winnipeg native Matthieu Gomercic for Game 5 against the Wild.

Camrud, 19, played centre for the Humboldt Broncos and was reportedly released from hospital on April 11, according to Global News. He suffered a concussion, bruises and cuts from the incident.

In what has been a life-changing month for all involved, it is nice to see those affected begin the healing process as they attempt to move forward from the tragic accident that killed 16 and injured 13 others.
