Yahoo Sports Oklahoma RB Mikey Henderson dismissed after warrant issued over alleged robbery
Oklahoma running back Mikey Henderson was released from the team after he was identified as a third member of an alleged robbery earlier this year.
The team announced his dismissal on Tuesday night after Norman police connected him to an alleged robbery in April with former Sooners players Seth McGowan and Trejan Bridges.
An arrest warrant for conjoint robbery, conspiracy, and assault for a dangerous weapon was issued on Tuesday, according to SoonerScoop’s Carey Murdock.
Both McGowan and Bridges were dismissed from the team and arrested in May after they were allegedly involved in an armed robbery. According to ESPN, a man told police that McGowan reached out to purchase marijuana from him. When the man told McGowan no, McGowan and Bridges allegedly came to his apartment anyway and assaulted and robbed him at gunpoint with a third suspect — who police now identified as Henderson.
Henderson, per the report, allegedly stole a backpack from the victim’s room with “jewelry, marijuana, high dollar shoes and cash.”
Henderson recorded 168 receiving yards and had 81 rushing yards with two total touchdowns in eight games during his freshman season with the Sooners.
