Lions Complete Three-Game Sweep At Home With Convincing Win Over Adirondack

The Trois-Rivieres Lions remain undefeated in 2025. On Sunday, the ECHL affiliate of the Montreal Canadiens completed a three-game sweep of the Adirondack Thunder 6-1 in front of a crowd of 3,150 at Colisee Videotron.

It was Adirondack who started out the game in aggressive fashion, sending six shots at Lions goaltender Hunter Jones early in the opening period. Jones stood tall in net, stopping each one.

After weathering the outburst, Trois-Rivieres scored first. At the 6:48 mark, Anthony Beauregard intercepted the puck and set up Jakov Novak in front of the net for his 12th goal of the year. Beauregard and Alex Beaucage each picked up assists.

It was the only goal of the frame, and the two teams skated into the dressing room after 20 minutes with the Lions ahead 1-0.

Trois-Rivieres killed off a penalty early in the second period, then roared to life with three unanswered goals. Beaucage, Isaac Dufort and Vincent Sevigny each potted a goal for a 4-0 Lions advantage after two.

The first seven minutes of the third period saw Trois-Rivieres add two more goals from Beauregard and Tommy Cormier for a 6-0 lead.

Jones, who remained solid in goal, finally had his shutout broken on a Kevin O’Neil goal at the 17:10 mark of the third period for the 6-1 final.

Trois-Rivieres moves its record to 21-4-4 on the season, while the Thunder falls to 13-16-1.

The Lions take to the road for a three-game series in Reading against the Royals Jan. 10-12.

Adirondack returns home Jan. 10 for a three-game weekend series against the Orlando Solar Bears.
