Here is a 2024 NFL draft pick-by-pick breakdown for the Houston Texans:

Round 2 (No. 42 overall, from Vikings) — Kamari Lassiter, CB, Georgia: Could be a nickel in what's shaping up as a deep secondary in Houston, though didn't play much in the slot for the Dawgs. A 4.65 40 time at his pro day is a red flag. Draft tracker

Round 2 (59) — Blake Fisher, OT, Notre Dame: A right tackle for the Irish opposite Joe Alt, he could displace struggling vet Tytus Howard in H-Town. Draft tracker

Round 3 (78, from Seahawks through Commanders and Eagles) — Calen Bullock, S, USC: Houston continues to stock its secondary with versatile players. Bullock split his time between the slot and safety and picked off nine passes in three seasons. Draft tracker

Round 4 (123, from Browns through Texans and Eagles) — Cade Stover, TE, Ohio State: Stover was Ohio’s Mr. Football in high school, but it took him a while to find a positional home in college. He bounced from defensive end to tight end to linebacker before settling in at tight end. It was the right move. Draft tracker

Round 6 (188, from Raiders through Patriots and Vikings) — Jamal Hill, LB, Oregon: Hill's size caters to a move to safety at the NFL level. He has the athleticism to keep up in coverage and special teams which may be his role for the foreseeable future. Many boards had him as an undrafted free agent so this feels a bit high for a player without a set position in the league. Draft tracker

Round 6 (205, from Lions) — Jawhar Jordan, RB, Louisville: After trading for Joe Mixon and drafting Dameon Pierce in 2022, it's an odd choice to go with Jordan with other holes on the offense. Jordan's a smaller back who runs hard and makes precise cuts but there are concerns about his durability. He could provide kick return value to Houston under the new rules. Draft tracker

Round 7 (238, from Saints) — Solomon Byrd, DE, USC: Byrd's quick first step makes up for his average length for the position. His motor and flashes of production give confidence he could develop into a contributor at the NFL level. But he'll need to improve a lot in run defense for Houston to get to that point. Round 7 (247) — Marcus Harris, DT, Auburn: It's a slight surprise that Harris was drafted later than his teammate Rogers given his better production and measurements. Harris led the Tigers in sacks in 2023 with seven and provides a fast first step off the line. His relentless energy, strength, and hands give him rotational upside.  Draft tracker

Round 7 (249, from Lions) — LaDarius Henderson, G, Michigan: Houston picks up another piece on the offensive line late with Henderson, who provides NFL-level length and size at the position. His first step is impressive and he's built for a zone-blocking scheme. Draft tracker
