Ex Arsenal & Man United Veteran Named MOTM For Decisive Display In Inter Milan Vs Parma Serie A Clash
Henrikh Mkhitaryan has been named as the outstanding player in Inter Milan’s Serie A win over Parma for his decisive performance.
Today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, give the former Arsenal and Roma midfielder the man of the match award for the clash.
It is certainly no longer a surprise to see Mkhitaryan putting in strong performances in midfield for Inter.
Even with his 36th birthday approaching, the Armenian always seems to put in a tireless shift.
And that was the case against Parma yesterday.
It was not an easy midfield battle for Inter. The likes of Mandela Keita and Simon Sohm gave Parma plenty of legs and the Gialloblu aimed to stretch the pitch and hit quick counterattacks whenever they won the ball.
But Mkhitaryan’s effort was key to denying Parma space.
The former Manchester United veteran put in a rugged defensive display. And in possession, Mkhitaryan’s technical quality and experience helped Inter wrestle control of proceedings.

Mkhitaryan also showed his quality as he approached the final third.
The 35-year-old played a number of telling balls forward which sliced through the Parma defensive lines.
Meanwhile, throughout the first half Mkhitaryan got forward and made an impact in the penalty area.
There was one brilliant run which the veteran midfielder was unable to finish with a goal.
There was, in fact, no goal for Mkhitaryan on the night. But there were two assists.
Mkhitaryan found Federico Dimarco with a clever one-two in the area for Inter’s opener.
Then, for the Nerazzurri’s second goal, the former Giallorossi midfielder played a spectacular long arching pass to find Nicolo Barella.
