West Ham will face Bundesliga leaders Bayer Leverkusen in the quarter-finals of the Europa League.

The Hammers will travel to Germany for the first leg on April 11, before welcoming Leverkusen to the London Stadium the following week.

Bayer Leverkusen are enjoying a brilliant season so far and they are currently 10 points clear of Bayern Munich at the top of the Bundesliga.

Former Liverpool midfielder Xabi Alonso has worked wonders as manager and has been linked with replacing Jurgen Klopp.

Liverpool were also in Friday’s quarter-final draw and they will face Italian side Atalanta.

Should the Reds get past them, then they will take on either Benfica or Marseille in the semi-finals.

West Ham will face the winners of AC Milan or Roma should they beat Bayer Leverkusen, making the prospect of an all-English final a possibility.

The Hammers booked their place in the semi-finals with an emphatic 5-0 victory over Freiburg on Thursday night.

“We don’t score five too often, but we scored really good goals tonight,” said manager David Moyes.

“Mo [Kudus] scored a couple of brilliant goals, Jarrod [Bowen] as well, and I think getting off to a good early start with the Lucas Paqueta strike settled us down well.

“The fans gave us a really good backing tonight, and it’s great to get the result for them.

We’ve had three brilliant years of European football, and I hope everyone’s enjoyed it as much as we have.

I know everyone enjoyed last season, and we’ll do everything possible to try and get even a taste of something like that again this year.”
