Calais Campbell downplays Jags locker room scuffle: 'We all good'

The Jacksonville Jaguars might be frustrated, but that doesn’t mean they hate each other. While it’s true the Jaguars were involved in a locker room scuffle following their Week 7 loss to the Houston Texans, the entire thing was overblown, according to defensive end Calais Campbell.

Campbell appeared on Yahoo Sports’ “The Spin,” and explained that the “fight” in the team’s locker room was blown out of proportion. Campbell was spotted holding back defensive end Yannick Ngakoue as reporters prepared to enter the team’s locker room. The doors were quickly shut, and reporters could hear a lot of yelling.

The 32-year-old Campbell explained what happened between him and Ngakoue:

“I tried to pull him aside because I wanted to talk to him,” Campbell said. “And he didn’t want to be talked to in that moment because he was a little frustrated, like we all are.”

Campbell added that he didn’t realize the media was going to see the entire exchange, and blamed himself for letting it happen, saying “I should have known. I’m a vet.”

Ultimately, though, Campbell said the argument was nothing serious, repeatedly telling hosts Josh Barnes and Jared Quay Campbell that things were “all good.”

After losing three straight games, the Jaguars will look to turn things around on the field against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 8. The game will be played in London.
