Brad Marchand Weighs in on Jeremy Swayman Talks

The ongoing negotiations between Jeremy Swayman and the Boston Bruins have been making many headlines in the hockey world. This was especially the case yesterday (Sept. 30).

Bruins president Cam Neely insinuated to reporters that the club has offered Swayman a $64 million contract. Swayman's agent, Lewis Gross, then released a statement saying that there was never a $64 million offer in their negotiations.

While the drama of the Swayman negotiations has reached a new level, Bruins captain Brad Marchand stayed calm when discussing the matter with reporters today (Oct. 1).

Here is what Marchand said on the matter:

"We all understand the situation that the team and Sway are in. This is part of the game. It's part of the business. It's a part that nobody enjoys. Eventually, a deal is going to get done, and everyone's going to move on and be fine."

Hearing Marchand express confidence that a deal will get done between Swayman and the Bruins is a bit refreshing. However, until a new contract is finalized, there is no question that there will continue to be a lot of concern surrounding the team.
