Aston Villa chief names Real Madrid & Barcelona stars among dream signings
Aston Villa sporting director pointed towards a pair of leading La Liga stars, when drawn on his dream signings for the Claret and Blue this week.
The two players in question? Lamine Yamal, and Jude Bellingham.
Wide-man Lamine, of course, has spent the season to date continuing to make a name for himself as world football’s standout young player.
The 17-year-old, across 28 appearances in all competitions with Barcelona, has directly contributed to 24 goals.
Midfielder Bellingham, meanwhile, after a somewhat underwhelming opening to the campaign, has also rediscovered his brilliant best over recent weeks.
The Englishman, after being restored to his more attack-minded role in Carlo Ancelotti’s Real Madrid XI, has racked up 10 goals and 10 assists in 29 appearances.
In turn, it should come as little surprise to hear that the aforementioned Monchi would love nothing more than to have both under his watch at Villa Park.
Speaking during an interview with El Larguero this week, former Sevilla chief Monchi was asked to name his three Aston Villa dream signings, in the case of being afforded unlimited funds.
And the Spaniard went on to explain:
“It would depend on the profile we are looking for…
“A winger? Lamine Yamal? A striker? Haaland? A box-to-box? Bellingham, seems to me to be the most complete profile.”
🤨 👤 Con TODO el dinero del mundo… ¿a quién ficharía 'Monchi' para su equipo?
🙄 "Dependería del perfil que busquemos…"
