Arsenal vs Liverpool LIVE! FA Cup result, match stream, latest updates today
An own goal by Jakub Kiwior and a thumping late strike by Luis Diaz sealed a 2-0 victory for Liverpool at Arsenal in the weekend's headline FA Cup third round tie as the hosts' dismal form extended into the New Year on Sunday. The Gunners have now lost their last three games in all competitions.
Arsenal wasted a sackful of chances in the first half and were made to pay as Liverpool skipper Trent Alexander-Arnold's free kick glanced off the head of Kiwior in the 80th minute. Diaz then made sure of eight-time winners Liverpool's place in the fourth round draw as he lashed home in stoppage time.
Premier League leaders Liverpool had been second-best in the opening period with Arsenal unable to make the most of a flurry of early chances -- captain Martin Odegaard coming closest as he rattled the crossbar with a powerful drive. Liverpool improved after the break though and their 7,000 army of travelling fans were rewarded with a two late goals.

A chance of what could have been for Arsenal after so many missed chances.
A deeply unfortunately own goal and then Liverpool picked them off on the counter.

That is classic isn't it? Arsenal finally find the bet...but it's their own one.
GOAL!
18:10 , Alex Young
80min: It's been all Arsenal but it's the visitors who take the lead, and it's a Kiwior own goal at the corner!
Arsenal have 10 minutes to save their FA Cup campaign.
18:08 , Alex Young
78min: Jota hits the crossbar with a header from the following corner and then Nunez misses the goal entirely from 12 yards. I do not know how he missed then.
18:06 , Alex Young
77min: Best chance for the game for Liverpool as Diaz takes the ball in his stride and fires low at the near post, which Ramsdale does brilliantly to save.
18:04 , Alex Young
75min: Clark and Bradley are on for Liverpool, replacing Elliott and Jones.
18:03 , Alex Young
74min: Arsenal try to break but Martinelli handles the ball when controlling it. Huge call, and the right one, from the ref as Arsenal were three on three then.
18:01 , Alex Young
73min: Saka cuts inside and has another go, but again his shot is high and wide. He's not had a good game.
17:59 , Alex Young
71min: Now Elliott into the book.
Liverpool break through Nunez and the forward spots Diaz in acres, but his space is behind him. That looked like an almost certain Liverpool goal.
17:57 , Alex Young
68min: Martinelli has given Arsenal a new edge, knows exactly what he wants to do and is doing it.
17:56 , Alex Young
66min: Saliba is the first man into the book. He has otherwise been superb today.
17:52 , Alex Young
64min: Elliott with a weak attempt on goal. Martinelli has replaced Nelson.
17:50 , Alex Young
61min: Saka, and most of the Emirates, has his head in his hands as he looks to volley home at the back post but gets it all wrong. Does he not have a right foot?
17:48 , Alex Young
60min: Double change for Liverpool as Jota and Gravenberch replace Gakpo and Mac Allister.
17:47 , Alex Young
58min: This is better from Arsenal as a clever free-kick routine releases Havertz in the area to dink to the back post but Saka's volley attempt is all wrong. Gabriel looked certain to head home.
17:46 , Alex Young
56min: We've got a real game on our hands now as Liverpool have finally woken up. Nunez again the outlet on the left to cause panic in the box but Gakpo cannot take advantage.
17:43 , Alex Young
54min: Make that three chances for Liverpool. Alexander-Arnold finds Nunez, who is now stationed on the left flank, to cut inside and have a pop, which whistles narrowly past Ramsdale's far post.
17:41 , Alex Young
53min: Two chances in quick succession for Liverpool as Jones blazes over after Nunez is crowded out. First real signs of a threat from Liverpool.
17:40 , Alex Young
52min: Up the other end, Diaz is guilty of the same thing (sort of) as he looks to pass to Gakpo when the better option was to shoot. When he does get a chance to go alone, Arsenal can block.
17:38 , Alex Young
49min: Saka runs through on goal down the right, and he has to square it to Havertz with the goal gaping... but goes alone and the chance breaks down.
17:37 , Alex Young
48min: Slower start to the second half with a few niggly fouls and wayward passes.
Second half
17:34 , Alex Young
46min: Back under way!
17:32 , Alex Young
Here they come.
17:30 , Alex Young
Any changes at the break? There's very little on Liverpool's bench.
17:21 , Alex Young
It's been all Arsenal but someone needs to remind their forwards where the goal is, namely Havertz.Liverpool need to improve.
Half-time!
17:18 , Alex Young
48min: Fails to beat the first man, and that's half-time!
17:17 , Alex Young
47min: Arsenal win a free kick near the touchline again, Nelson over Saka this time...
17:16 , Alex Young
46min: Two minutes added on.
17:16 , Alex Young
45min: Up the other end, Alexander-Arnold clangs the crossbar from the corner of the area with Ramsdale helpless.
17:14 , Alex Young
44min: This is even worse. Havertz is in acres on the edge of the area, takes one bad touch, then another even worse one and then fires a weak shot at Alisson.
17:12 , Alex Young
43min: ... flies straight out of play.
17:12 , Alex Young
42min: Arsenal win a free kick deep into Liverpool's half after a clumsy foul from Gomez on Odegaard. Saka fancies this, out wide on the the right...
Simon Collings at Emirates Stadium
17:09 , Alex Young
You could hear the groan around the Emirates as the replay of Havertz heading wide was shown. Arsenal have to take one of these chances. Far, far too wasteful.
17:08 , Alex Young
39min: Havertz at the back post from the corner... but he heads wide. Huge chance.
17:08 , Alex Young
38min: Now White has a pop from the edge of the area which Alisson has to top over! Great shot, great save.
17:07 , Alex Young
37min: Arsenal, this entire time, still look very in control but also fairly clueless in attack.
Rice this time tries his luck from distance, but it's easy for Alisson.
17:04 , Alex Young
33min: Deary me, again! What is Ben White doing? He just shoves Jones to the floor without even attempting to make a challenge.
17:01 , Alex Young
30min: Deary me. Haverz, in what is one of his first touches, receives the ball with his back to goal inside the area but takes far too many touches before attempting a weak shot which barely reaches Alisson.
16:58 , Alex Young
28min: Diaz pushes Jorginho over and there's the Arsenal man's potty mouth again. You can't blame him this time.
16:57 , Alex Young
27min: A lovely, sweeping move from Arsenal ends with Saka having a weak shot on target.
The forward reacts by changing his boots.
Simon Collings at Emirates Stadium
16:55 , Alex Young
Declan Rice looking much more like his usual self after a tough afternoon at Fulham last week. Having Jorginho deep alongside him helping.
16:54 , Alex Young
25min: Jorginho gets a talking to from the referee after fouling Gakpo and then telling the man in the middle to, well, you know.
16:53 , Alex Young
23min: Nelson takes a tumble under pressure from Alexander-Arnold as he enters the penalty area, but there's nothing doing. Not a dive, but not a foul.
16:52 , Alex Young
22min: First chance for Liverpool as Nunez meets Elliott's corner delivery, but it was never troubling Ramsdale.
16:50 , Alex Young
18min: Liverpool have done just that, but Arsenal still seeing more of the ball. Saka was just shown limping slightly then, but doesn't look like anything serious.
16:46 , Alex Young
14min: Liverpool need to slow this Arsenal team down and find their feet. Another slow start from them today.
CROSSBAR!
16:42 , Alex Young
12min: This is remarkable! Nelson is again guilty of missing a good chance but Odegaard is on hand to tuck home with Alisson on the floor and the goal gaping... but he hits the crossbar!
16:39 , Alex Young
9min: Odegaard tries his luck from 25 yards, which Alisson palms away.
Hosts firmly on top.
16:39 , Alex Young
8min: The corner comes in and it causes panic in the Liverpool area as Havertz and Odegaard throw themselves at the ball... but the visitors hack the ball away.
16:38 , Alex Young
7min: Arsenal are racking up chances. Nelson again as the opportunity to shoot but it's deflected behind for a corner.
Simon Collings at Emirates Stadium
16:34 , Alex Young
No signs of any early nerves from Ramsdale, instead he should have had an assist. Perhaps buoyed by getting the nod in such a big game like this.
16:33 , Alex Young
4min: Liverpool head up the other end through Elliott, who is fouled by Gabriel.
16:33 , Alex Young
3min: First chance of the game and it's a big'un as Ramsdale spots Nelson's run with a superb pass, but as the forward rounds Alisson and angle gets too tight and can only find the side netting with a shot.
Kick-off!
16:30 , Alex Young
1min: Here we go!
16:29 , Alex Young
It's some atmosphere at the Emirates. Kick-off is moments away.
16:26 , Alex Young
Here come the teams!

It will be intriguing to see how Kiwior plays today. He struggled against Fulham trying to tuck in, like Zinchenko does.
He wasn't specifically talking about Kiwior, but Arteta said this on Friday: "We have to play to the strengths of the players, that is the first thing. I don’t want players to do things that they don’t feel comfortable doing."
Kiwior to play as a conventional left-back then?
16:23 , Alex Young
It's almost time for the game. The players are just entering the tunnel.
Why Van Dijk is missing
16:17 , Alex Young
Jurgen Klopp to BBC Sport: "Virgil is ill. We were kind of lucky because the staff had it but now we have to see how he is tomorrow."
16:07 , Alex Young
These two teams met in the Premier League just two weeks ago, sharing the spoils in a 1-1 draw with Mohamed Salah cancelling out Gabriel's opener.
Much has changed since then, namely Liverpool replacing Arsenal at the top of the table as the Gunners dropped to fourth.
Neither team will want a replay and make it three meetings inside a month.
16:00 , Alex Young
Mikel Arteta admitted back-to-back defeats have halted Arsenal's Premier League momentum but warned against putting his side's rocky run under the microscope.
The Gunners are today looking to avoid losing to three consecutive defeats for the first time since April 2022.
"We were not at the level (against Fulham) and we were not good enough," said Arteta. "I don't think we deserved to lose but we didn't do enough to win it.
"It affects momentum that we had. Until Christmas Day we were top of the league and six days later we are fourth.
"You can be very tempted to look at things with a microscope or take the telescope and look a little bit further ahead and treat things with a little bit more perspective.
"And my job, big time, is to look with the telescope, have perspective, analyse things in a broader way and not get affected by one performance; not results, just one performance."
15:51 , Alex Young
So, it's three changes for Arsenal as Havertz leads the line, Martinelli is dropped and Jesus misses out through injury.
Liverpool make four changes, with Van Dijk missing and Salah away on Africa Cup of Nations duty. Szoboszlai is injured.

Our man with his thoughts on the team news.
"Arsenal look short at the back."
Despite Jesus missing through injury, attack does not appear to be the weak point for the Gunners today.

No Gabriel Jesus today due to a knee issue.
Early whispers are that Arteta is turning to Kai Havertz to lead the line.
Seems a wise call with his height.
Arteta makes new Arsenal transfer admission
14:53 , Giuseppe Muro
Mikel Arteta has admitted Arsenal may not sign any new players this month.
The Gunners’ recent blip has highlighted the need to reinforce their squad, with the club known to be interested in the likes of returning Brentford striker Ivan Toney.
And while Arteta has once again reiterated that Arsenal are open to adding new faces, he insists the primary focus is on the players already at his disposal and has conceded publicly that it is possible nobody else arrives.
"We are open to the transfer market," said Arteta before Sunday's latest high-profile showdown with title rivals Liverpool, this time at home in the third round of the FA Cup.
"But the emphasis is on making the most of the players we have. "We will work with the club and see if we have any good options but first, our focus is on the players here."
Arsenal to wear an all-white kit against Liverpool
14:49 , Giuseppe Muro
Arsenal are not wearing their usual red and white home strips against Liverpool on Sunday, instead donning an all-white kit for a special cause.
The 'No More Red' kit is being worn as part of Arsenal's ongoing campaign against knife crime and youth violence, with the traditional red drained out.
The Gunners' men's side also wore the kit in previous FA Cup ties away against Nottingham Forest and Oxford last season, but Sunday marks the first time they have done so in a home match at the Emirates Stadium.
Arsenal's women's side will also wear it for the first time when they meet Watford in an FA Cup fourth round game against Watford at Meadow Park on Sunday.
“No More Red provides a unique opportunity to highlight almost four decades of our local community work that has helped to keep thousands of young people safe," said Freddie Hudson, head of Arsenal in the Community.
“Young people face multiple challenges as they grow up in today’s world and we don’t have all the answers, but we are confident that by acting together and shining a light on the support network available across our community, we can make a significant contribution to the lives of our participants.”

Liverpool will feel the absence of Mohamed Salah but, of course, be competitive even without him.
Nonetheless Arsenal should be able to make home advantage count to seal their spot in round four.
One thing is for sure, as the old saying goes: neither side will want a replay!
Arsenal to win, 2-1.
Liverpool team news
14:17 , Giuseppe Muro
Liverpool will be without Mohamed Salah for the first time.
Salah has joined up with the Egypt squad ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations and it remains to be seen how Liverpool will cope in his absence.
Harvey Elliott could be chosen to replace Salah on the right wing.
Dominik Szoboszlai has been ruled out with the hamstring injury he suffered against Newcastle on New Year’s Day.
Wataru Endo is at the Asian Cup with Japan.
Arsenal team news: Jesus ruled out
14:09 , Giuseppe Muro
Arsenal are set to be without Gabriel Jesus against Liverpool due to a knee injury.
The problem is only thought to be a minor issue, and not a major concern for Arsenal, but Jesus will miss the third-round tie at Emirate Stadium.
Arsenal also have fitness concerns over Oleksandr Zinchenko.
Zinchenko missed last weekend’s defeat at Fulham due to a calf problem and Mikel Arteta said he would make a late call on the left-back after training on Saturday.
Provided their third-round tie is not a draw and there is no replay, Arsenal do not play again until January 20 and Arteta is expected to name a strong side.
