2021 NHL Draft: Keep track of every pick

The first day of the 2021 NHL Draft is set to take place virtually on July 23 at 8:00 p.m. EDT. Follow along here for every pick.

1. Buffalo Sabres

D Owen Power, University of Michigan

Height: 6-foot-6

Weight: 214 lbs

Power excelled in the USHL with the Chicago Steel before having continued success at the University of Michigan. He's a smooth skater for someone with his hulking size. He's stated that he's "leaning towards" returning to Michigan this upcoming season.

2. Seattle Kraken

C Matty Beniers, University of Michigan

Height: 6-foot-1

Weight: 174 lbs

Back-to-back Michigan Wolverines to start the draft. Beniers is a two-way centre who won a gold medal with the United States at the World Junior Championships in 2021. He recorded 10 goals and 24 points in 24 contests in the NCAA's Big Ten last year.

3. Anaheim Ducks

C Mason McTavish, Peterborough Petes

Height: 6-foot-2

Weight: 207 lbs

A tenacious forward, McTavish found success early in the OHL, scoring 29 goals and 42 points across 57 contests in his rookie campaign. With the OHL inactive this past year, he played for Olten in Swiss 2. Liga, potting nine goals and 11 points in 13 games while playing against mostly older competition.

4. New Jersey Devils

D Luke Hughes, U.S. NTDP

Height: 6-foot-2

Weight: 176 lbs

The Devils reunited two of the three Hughes brothers, selecting Luke to join Jack in New Jersey. Like his older brothers, Luke is a smooth skater. An offensive-minded blueliner, Hughes recorded 34 points in 38 games with the U.S. NTDP. He's committed to playing at the University of Michigan this upcoming season.

5. Columbus Blue Jackets

C Kent Johnson, University of Michigan

Height: 6-foot-1

Weight: 165 lbs

Four of the top five picks from this draft will be playing at the University of Michigan this upcoming season. A slight forward, Johnson is known for his silky mitts and creativity. He produced nine goals and 27 points in 26 games with the Wolverines in 2020-21.

6. Detroit Red Wings

D Simon Edvinsson, Frolunda

Height: 6-foot-5

Weight: 207 lbs

Edvinsson is a big-bodied defenseman who possesses solid skating abilities. He can handle himself in both the offensive and defensive zones. He spent some time in the SHL with Frolunda this season but was loaned to Vasteras in Sweden's Division 2 to receive some more playing time.

7. San Jose Sharks

LW William Eklund, Djurgarden

Height: 5-foot-10

Weight: 172 lbs

Eklund spent the entire 2020-21 season with Djurgarden in the SHL, playing amongst the highest level of competition in his native country. He's a smaller winger that has demonstrated that he can play in any situation. He recorded 11 goals and 23 points with Djurgarden in the 2020-21 season.

8. Los Angeles Kings

D Brandt Clarke, Barrie Colts

Height: 6-foot-2

Weight: 190 lbs

Clarke, a highly-coveted right-handed shot defenseman, is a polished blueliner who excels in the offensive end of the ice. After a strong rookie season with the Barrie Colts, Clarke played in Slovak Extraliga while the OHL was inactive. Playing against older competition, he produced five goals and 15 points for Nove Zamky, finishing second amongst all rearguards on the team in scoring.

9. Arizona Coyotes (from Vancouver Canucks)

RW Dylan Guenther, Edmonton Oil Kings

Height: 6-foot-1

Weight: 181 lbs

A gifted goal-scorer, Guenther is known for his wicked shot. In the WHL this past season, Guenther recorded 12 goals and 24 points in 12 games with the Edmonton Oil Kings.

10. Ottawa Senators

RW Tyler Boucher, U.S. NTDP

Height: 6-foot-1

Weight: 201 lbs

Boucher missed some time this past season dealing with injuries, but he recorded 11 points in 12 games with the U.S. NTDP when healthy. He's a tough competitor on the ice who isn't afraid to use his body as well. He's committed to playing at Boston University this upcoming year.

12. Columbus Blue Jackets (from Chicago Blackhawks)

C Cole Sillinger, Sioux Falls Stampede

Height: 6-foot-0

Weight: 201 lbs

While the start of the WHL season was delayed, Sillinger left to play for the Sioux Falls Stampede in the USHL. A strong offensive forward, Sillinger notched 24 goals and 46 points across 31 games in 2020-21. Blue Jackets fans will be happy to know he was born in Columbus, Ohio.

13. Calgary Flames

LW Matt Coronato, Chicago Steel

Height: 5-foot-10

Weight: 183 lbs

A player with a high compete level, Coronato was one of the top scorers in the USHL with the Chicago Steel this past season. He recorded an impressive 48 goals and 85 points in 51 games. He's committed to playing at Harvard University this upcoming campaign.

14. Buffalo Sabres (from Philadelphia Flyers)

LW Isak Rosen, Leksand

Height: 5-foot-11

Weight: 161 lbs

A small forward, Rosen is a smooth-skating playmaker who played against mostly older competition with Leksand in the SHL. He performed well at the World Under-18 tournament for Sweden, producing seven goals and nine points in seven outings.

15. Detroit Red Wings (from Dallas Stars)

G Sebastian Cossa, Edmonton Oil Kings

Height: 6-foot-6

Weight: 212 lbs

Cossa is a mountain of a netminder who uses his massive frame to turn aside shooters. After a strong rookie season with the Edmonton Oil Kings, Cossa dominated in his sophomore campaign, posting a 17-1-1 record with a .941 save percentage.

16. New York Rangers

LW Brennan Othmann, Flint Firebirds

Height: 6-foot-0

Weight: 174 lbs

Othmann plays with an edge and can put the puck in the back of the net. In 2019-20, he scored 17 goals and 33 points in what was his rookie campaign with the Flint Firebirds. With the OHL inactive last season, Othmann played for Olten in Swiss 2. Liga, recording seven goals and 16 points in 34 games.

17. St. Louis Blues

C Zachary Bolduc, Rimouski Oceanic

Height: 6-foot-1

Weight: 174 lbs

A player who brings it on a nightly basis, Bolduc is smart in the offensive end of the ice. He recorded 10 goals and 29 points in 27 outings with the Rimouski Oceanic in the QMJHL last season.

18. Winnipeg Jets

C Chaz Lucius, U.S. NTDP

Height: 6-foot-0

Weight: 172 lbs

Missed a portion of the previous campaign due to a knee injury, but that didn't stop him from scoring 13 goals in 13 games with the U.S. NTDP when he returned. The talented goal-scorer will play next season at the University of Minnesota.

19. Nashville Predators

C Fyodor Svechkov, Togliatti Jr.

Height: 6-foot-0

Weight: 179 lbs

Playing for Togliatti in Russia's second division, Svechkov performed well while playing against mostly older competition, scoring a respectable five goals and 15 points in 38 games. He then played for Togliatti Jr. and notched 15 points in 15 contests. He's a well-rounded player who can skate, is reliable at both ends of the ice and can also play on the wing.

20. Minnesota Wild (from Edmonton Oilers)

G Jesper Wallstedt, Lulea

Height: 6-foot-3

Weight: 214 lbs

Playing in Sweden's premier league, the SHL, Wallstedt posted a solid .908 save percentage and a 12-10 record. Like Cossa, who was selected 15th overall by the Red Wings, Wallstedt is another goalie with plus-size.

21. Boston Bruins

RW Fabian Lysell, Lulea

Height: 5-foot-10

Weight: 172 lbs

There are some character concerns with Lysell, but he's a goal-scorer who can skate very well. He played 26 games in the SHL this past season with Lulea and produced a respectable three goals and nine points for Sweden at the World Under-18 tournament.

22. Edmonton Oilers (from Minnesota Wild)

RW Xavier Bourgault, Shawinigan Cataractes

Height: 6-foot-0

Weight: 172 lbs

Bourgault is a playmaker in the offensive end of the ice who recorded 111 points in 92 games across his last two seasons for the Shawinigan Cataractes. He's an effective player when the puck is on his stick.

23. Dallas Stars (from Detroit Red Wings via Washington Capitals)

C Wyatt Johnson, Windsor Spitfires

Height: 6-foot-1

Weight: 176 lbs

With the OHL inactive for the 2020-21 season, Johnson was limited to just seven games at the World Under-18 tournament this past calendar year. He performed well during the competition, recording two goals and four points in seven games. He's a responsible two-way player who also possesses an offensive touch.

24. Florida Panthers

C Mackie Samoskevich, Chicago Steel

Height: 5-foot-11

Weight: 190 lbs

Samoskevich is a fast skater who needs to work on becoming a more consistent player. He provided solid production for the Chicago Steel this past season, racking up 13 goals and 37 points in 36 games. He'll be playing at the University of Michigan this upcoming fall.

25. Columbus Blue Jackets (from Toronto Maple Leafs)

D Corson Ceulemans, Brooks Bandits

Height: 6-foot-2

Weight: 201 lbs

Ceulemans is a skilled, right-handed defenseman who excels in the offensive zone of the ice. He produced four goals and 11 points while playing for the Brooks Bandits in Jr. A last season and followed it up with one goal and eight points at the World Under-18 tournament for Canada. He'll be suiting up at the University of Wisconsin this upcoming year.

26. Minnesota Wild (from Pittsburgh Penguins)

D Carson Lambos, JYP Jr.

Height: 6-foot-1

Weight: 201 lbs

A player who fell down draft boards this past season, Lambos departed from the WHL and struggled while transitioning to playing in Finland for JYP Jr. He's not afraid to chip in offensively, but with an underwhelming two goals and 11 points in Finland's under-18 league, he failed to meet expectations.

27. Nashville Predators (from Carolina Hurricanes)

C Zachary L'Heureux, Halifax Mooseheads

Height: 5-foot-11

Weight: 196 lbs

L'Heureux is a physical player who's really tough to play against. He stepped into the QMJHL and produced as a rookie, potting 20 goals and 53 points in 55 games for the Moncton Wildcats. Between his first and second season, he was dealt to the Halifax Mooseheads and recorded 19 goals and 39 points across 33 contests in Year 2.

28. Colorado Avalanche

LW Oskar Olausson, HV71

Height: 6-foot-2

Weight: 181 lbs

Olausson relies on his speed to create offense, and it's his impressive skating skills that allowed him to play for HV71 in the SHL last year, Sweden's premier hockey league. While playing against mostly older competition, he notched three goals and four points in 16 contests.

29. New Jersey Devils (from New York Islanders)

RW Chase Stillman, Sudbury Wolves

Height: 6-foot-1

Weight: 183 lbs

A power forward, Stillman went to Denmark to play for Esbjerg Jr. and finished with nine goals and 16 points in eight games. He also played for Canada at the World Under-18 tournament and scored two goals and four points.

30. Vegas Golden Knights

C Zach Dean, Gatineau Olympiques

Height: 6-foot-0

Weight: 176 lbs

Dean generates offense from his speed but consistency has been an issue in his game. He posted 10 goals and 20 points in 23 games for the Gatineau Olympiques last year.

31. Montreal Canadiens

D Logan Mailloux, London Knights

Height: 6-foot-3

Weight: 214 lbs

This pick is a complete shock as Mailloux was charged for 'offensive photography' last November while playing in Sweden for SK Lejon in ​​HockeyEttan. Mailloux also renounced himself in the lead-up to the NHL Draft after his charges were made public.

32. Chicago Blackhawks (from Columbus Blue Jackets via Tampa Bay Lightning)

D Nolan Allan, Prince Albert Raiders

Height: 6-foot-2

Weight: 194 lbs

Allan is a defensive defenseman who moves well. He spent this past year with both La Ronge in Sweden's Jr. Hockey League and the Prince Albert Raiders of the WHL. He was also named to Canada's World Under-18 team.
