Serena Williams double faults on match point, promptly smashes racquet

The Grand Slam season might be all but over, but the competition never stops, and that can definitely be said after watching this video of Serena Williams and sister Venus playing in a doubles match at the China Open on Monday.

The Williams sisters were playing a first round match against Liezel Huber and Chan Hao-Ching and were facing match point with Serena serving.

Late in the third set, Serena dumped the first serve in the net and did the same thing with the second set, dropping the match and immediately taking it out on her racquet.

Serena got some good hits on that thing before tossing it at her chair, eventually hugging sister Venus and shaking hands with the winners, but it was a rare meltdown from a player that has had a rather incredible 2013 season.

The frustration on Monday came from Serena and Venus simply failing to close out what should have been a routine match. The two were up 4-1 in the second set before losing that one, and had two match points of their own that they couldn't convert.

Still, it was a pretty epic meltdown from the best tennis player in the world, and brought back memories of her racquet smashing party earlier this year at the Australian Open.
