DTotD: Getafe’s Miku plants studs in Feyenoord youngster’s kneecap

Feyenoord concluded their preparations for the forthcoming Eredivisie season with a 3-1 win over Getafe on Sunday afternoon, with 19-year-old attacking midfielder Joey Sleegers hoping to prove himself after joining the first team earlier this month. One of his first appearances for De club aan de Maas, however, looked like it might have been one of his last when Getafe's Miku lunged into his knee with a horrendous studs-up challenge.

Amazingly, the Venezuelan striker was given only a yellow card for a tackle that could easily have ended a career that's barely started. Fortunately, Seegers and his kneecap escaped the incident relatively unharmed.

This has been the Dirty Tackle of the Day: a chronicling of unfortunate events.
