No timetable for Kyrie Irving’s return from concussion

The Cleveland Cavaliers, currently in fourth place in the Central Division, surprisingly took down the Pacific Division-leading Los Angeles Clippers 99-92 Wednesday night and they did it without the help of rookie sensation Kyrie Irving.

The 19-year-old who was drafted first overall this past summer was pulled from the lineup before the opening tipoff when team docs diagnosed him with a concussion, the Associated Press reports. He was apparently kneed in the head in the Cavs' 107-91 loss to the Miami Heat on Tuesday.

"He went out and warmed up and said it felt like his head was on fire," Cavaliers coach Byron Scott said, the AP reports. "He says he's doing fine."

Irving is averaging 18 points, tops in the league for rookies, and 5.1 assists per game. The AP notes that there is no timetable for when he will return to action.
