The IIHF Div. 1 Group B World Championships are taking place in the Netherlands with Great Britain topping the table after three games. The winner of the group advances to Group A next year.
On Thursday, the Brits edged Jim Paek’s Korea squad 3-2 after coming back from a 2-0 deficit. The winning goal came via a penalty shot in the third period by Ben O’Connor. And boy, was it pretty:
"I do this at practice every week," O’Connor said afterward, via the IIHF website. "This move was on my mind all the time, but I just haven't done it in a game yet.”
What a perfect time to break it out…and be successful.
