Selanne’s gold ingot is 99.99 percent gold (we imagine the other 00.01 percent is smelt). They’re available in three sizes: 2.5 grams (1000 pieces), 10 grams (300 pieces) and eight gold ingots that weigh 10 grams, which is a whole lotta golden Teemu.

None of them are apparently filled with chocolate. Sorry, Bruce.

Selanne was asked about the gold blocks, and said: “I have not seen ingot ready yet, but I've seen the design is surprisingly accurate and credible. Yes, they clearly my face and my character there are in the block.”

The 2.5 gram bar costs 345 Euros, or $428.64 US dollars. Which means, in theory, you could use Teemu Gold to buy an iPad for Christmas. Provided your local Apple Store accepts them as currency. Hey, if they take AmEx …
