Five things to know about tonight's NHL games ...

1. Senators still have a pulse. A win by the Senators would put them three points behind the Blue Jackets for the Eastern Conference's final wildcard spot. It won't come easy as the Islanders have won four of five.

2. No Pavel Datsyuk or Daniel Alfredsson for Red Wings. The two vets will miss out tonight against Boston. Datsyuk is recovering from a knee injury and trying to get his conditioning up, while Alfie has the dreaded "lower-body injury."

3. Reilly Smith getting going again. The Bruins rookie tallied 18 goals in his first 32 games. Of course, regression bit him in the butt and fell back to Earth by scoring once in his next 23 games. Claude Julien said he was sick during the Olympic break, but has since recovered and looks to be back in form.

4. Kings looks to clinch. Any sort of a victory by LA tonight and they will clinch a playoff spot for the fifth straight season.

5. Viktor Fasth faces his old team. Almost a month after being dealt to Edmonton, Fasth will face the Ducks for the first time. He's 2-1-1 since the trade.

Bold prediction: LA locks up their playoff spot and Fasth bests his former team.
