Here are the uniforms the 49ers and Ravens will be wearing for the Super Bowl

And, well, they're basically the same uniforms that we've seen the San Francisco 49ers and Baltimore Ravens wear all season. There is a pretty nifty Super Bowl XLVII patch on both, though.

Alas, because the Nike PR folks couldn't just quote Noah Vanderhoff's "Ms. Pac-Man has a bow on her head" in pointing out the difference, they wrote a lengthy PR release to justify their expense accounts down in New Orleans this week. The gist: Both uniforms feature the "Elite 51" technology that Nike introduced when it started making the league's uniforms this season. The duds will no doubt allow the players to perform like the Greek gods they are and allow the human race to reach heights never before seen.

From NikeInc.com:

Both team uniforms feature full Nike Elite 51 innovation including Flywire technology in the neckline to reduce weight and provide a lockdown fit over the pads. These revolutionary uniforms are engineered and purposefully constructed with every element built for speed. From head-to-toe and inside-out, the uniform components are constructed to work in concert with each other – from the jersey, pant, baselayer and padding all the way down to the the sock and cleat. Additional innovation includes increased sleeve articulation for better range of motion as well as four-way stretch fabrication to provide a streamlined shrink-wrap fit.

The full, integrated uniform system also features strategically placed seams, pads and cooling zones that help minimize distraction and optimize protective coverage. Padding without the bulk offers optimal low-profile impact protection, specifically throughout the crucial “hit zone” between the knees and shoulders.

Nike also released pictures of the shoes the teams will be wearing and we actually have to say we like them. We'll take one of each, please, and be the mistmatched hit of our Super Bowl party come Sunday.
