For sheer on-the-spot ingenuity and the skill inherent in getting the puck flat on his blade while skating full tilt, it's safe to say Max Domi has a worthy goal of the year submission.

Frankly, who even thinks to basically alley-oop the puck to himself on a breakaway. On a rush on Friday, Domi was challenged when Sarnia Sting goalie Taylor Dupuis raced out of his net and slid on the ice. That risky-looking move often takes away a scoring chance, but the London Knights captain picked the puck up off the ice, lobbed it high into the air over a prostate Dupuis, then sprinted to the net before defenceman Jakob Chychrun could intervened and tapped the puck in. That might be the most creative goal among the 132 he's tallied over four Ontario Hockey League seasons.

There's no way that was a practised play. Domi told the London Free Press' Ryan Pyette he simply saw the chance for the play as he raced toward the loose puck and planned accordingly. Of course, all of that happened in less time than it took to read that last sentence.

One reason for saying this was Domi's best goal of his time with the Knights is that it might not be his best scoring play. The Arizona Coyotes prospect said he is still partial to his between-the-legs pass to Bo Horvat in a 2013 Memorial Cup game might still be his crowning touch. That also came in a post-season game.

The Knights won the game 6-2, with Domi collecting two points.
