Three Stars: Darian Durant, Emanuel Davis and Chris Milo lead semifinal standouts

It's time for a playoff edition of our weekly Three Stars series, looking at the top offensive, defensive, special teams and Canadian players from the conference semifinals' action.

First star/offensive player of the week: Darian Durant, quarterback, Saskatchewan Roughriders: Durant was crucial to the Riders' 29-25 win over B.C. Sunday, and he made plays with both his arms and his legs. He completed 19 of 23 passes (82.6 per cent) for 270 yards and two touchdowns and rushed six times for 97 yards. His performance down the stretch was particularly impressive, as he helped Saskatchewan to a 13-0 fourth quarter that gave the Riders the game.

(Honourable mentions: Taj Smith, WR, Saskatchewan; Tyrell Sutton, RB, Montreal; Travis Lulay, QB, B.C.)

Second star/defensive player of the week: Emanuel Davis, defensive back, Hamilton Tiger-Cats: Davis had a massive showing in Sunday's 19-16 overtime win against the Montreal Alouettes, coming up with both an interception and a forced fumble. He was a vital part of a defence that held the Alouettes to just 13 points in regulation despite often starting in poor field position.

(Honourable mentions: Ricky Foley, DE, Saskatchewan; Simoni Lawrence, LB, Hamilton; Wayne Venable, DB, Montreal.)

Third star/special teams player of the week: Chris Milo, kicker, Saskatchewan Roughriders: The Riders' offence stalled frequently early on in Sunday's clash with B.C., and that left Milo with a big part to play. He made five of six field goals on the day, with the lone miss being an early one that narrowly clanked off the upright. Milo made big kicks throughout this one, and the 15 points he contributed proved crucial in Saskatchewan's victory.

(Honourable mentions: Craig Butler, DB/ST, Saskatchewan; Brandon London, WR/ST, Montreal; Jock Sanders, PR/KR, Saskatchewan.)

Bonus star/Canadian player of the week: Ricky Foley, defensive end, Saskatchewan Roughriders: Foley turned in a terrific performance Sunday against B.C., recording four tackles and a crucial sack. He was selected as last year's Most Outstanding Canadian in the Grey Cup (for the Toronto Argonauts), and if the Riders keep rolling, he could well defend his title.

(Honourable mentions: Andrew Harris, RB, B.C.; Sam Giguere, WR, Hamilton; Andy Fantuz, SB, Hamilton.)
