William Nylander deserves to be an NHL All-Star

William Nylander often finds himself playing in the shadow of Maple Leafs stars Auston Matthews, John Tavares and Mitch Marner but the Swede's performances this season make him deserving of an appearance at the 2023 NHL All-Star Weekend.

- William Nylander should be at the All-Star Game. I haven't really been a fan of the All-Star Game for a long time. I still think that they should do something that makes the All-Star Game meaningful. But, hey, if we're still going to be stuck in this, like, you know, weird format, let's put Nylander there.

He's never been there, and it's not really his fault. He's had a lot of good seasons. But I guess he's just-- he just kind of gets hampered by the fact that he's also on a team that has John Tavares, Auston Matthews, and Mitch Marner on it. So when it comes to the focus, he doesn't necessarily always get the focus.

But this year in particular he's really, really stood out. So if there was ever a year for Nylander to go to the All-Star Game, participate in the skills competition, be in that three-on-three tournament that no one really cares about, this would be it. I think it would really be cool.

Mitch Marner is already going to be there, and Marner and Nylander have actually been growing this nice dynamic on the ice. I think it'd be fun to see them go. So I know a lot of people probably want Matthews to go, but maybe this could be the year that Matthews takes a seat. Give Nylander his shot.
