William Nylander bright spot of optimism on dark night for Leafs
The Maple Leafs as a whole did not show up to the Game 1 loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning but William Nylander was the most active and positive performer in a blue sweater, and a cause for optimism for Toronto fans ahead of Game 2.

OMAR: Of course, it wasn't all bad. There are some players who stood out. William Nylander, for example, I'd say he was a star performer of the game. You know, scores the second goal of the game. You know, I think probably the most mobile and active player just watching the games. He's getting in on the floor check with O'Reilly and Tavares.
His goal, in fact, was actually kind of frustrating because he held on to the puck a lot. But you know, turns out he's waiting for a screen. He was able to capitalize on that. So even though there are moments where the top sticks didn't look engaged all the time, like William Nylander stood out. So he's definitely my star performer.
