SpaceX sends first Saudi woman into space to land on International Space Station

A scientist has become the first Saudi woman sent into space in history after a successful SpaceX launch on a “$55m ($44m)” trip to the International Space Station.Rayyanah Barnawi, a stem cell researcher was joined by Ali al-Qarni, a fighter pilot with the Royal Saudi Air Force on the flight sponsored by the Saudi Arabian government. They’re the first from their country to ride a rocket since a Saudi prince launched aboard shuttle Discovery in 1985. They’ll be greeted at the station by an astronaut from the United Arab Emirates.
