‘The Sopranos’ has a whole new podcast generation of fans

Michael Imperioli and Steve Schirripa are the voices behind the new podcast “Talking Sopranos.” Imperioli played Tony Soprano’s nephew Christopher Moltisanti on the show, while Schirripa filled the role of Bobby “Bacala” Baccalieri. Fans of “The Sopranos” are rewatching the iconic mob show while in quarantine, and others are binging-watching it for the first time. “I became aware of this whole new generation of young people, who are the podcast generation, who have been turned on to the show.” Imperioli tells Yahoo Entertainment. Imperioli and Schirripa are reliving their time on “The Sopranos” with each podcast. “It's been a blessing to have this to focus on and think about more happy times.” Imperioli says. The show ran from 1999 to 2007 and created an long-lasting bond with cast members. “You become like a family,” Schirripa says. The two also reminisce about working with James Gandolfini (Tony Soprano) who passed away in 2013. “He was wonderful right from the beginning,” Schirripa says. “He took his work extremely serious.”
