Sheldon Keefe leading one of the worst playoff performances ever

After finally getting past the first round for the first time in almost 20 years, the Maple Leafs are now putting in one of the worst playoff performances in franchise history against the Florida Panthers. Toronto's star players have gone missing but head coach Sheldon Keefe is also coming under increased scrutiny.

- There has been nothing that this team has showed me that has showed Leafs fans in this series to prove that any legitimate optimism is warranted. I'd be shocked if they won game 4. I'll say that flat out. I'd be shocked. I would be thoroughly shocked if they came back and forced game 7, thoroughly, because what we have seen has just been so sad.

Of course, the year where they finally went around turns out to be the year where they have probably they're-- not the worst, definitely one of their worst playoff performances ever. And I'm throwing that in the same category as the 3-1 Montreal series. At least they won a game. It's just, man, at the end of the day, right? The players have to get it done on the ice. And we've said that multiple times.

But I don't understand how Sheldon Keefe has been out coaching every single game of the playoffs this year. No hyperbole. The lineup decisions was one thing. Again, Justin Holl gets back into the lineup and just makes mistakes and makes mistakes and makes mistakes. Oh, but what about the other times on the ice where he's not making mistakes? That's fine, but when the mistakes he makes are big ones and they cost the team. So he's back in the lineup. Why? I don't know.

The big four aren't going for some reason. Were they split up? No. I saw the one-- I saw an O'Reilly, Tavares, Nylander shift. That was cool. But it was still Mathews and Marner. It was still Tavares and Nylander. Where is the mix up? Where are the line changes? All right?

It's just at some point, you have to just buckle in and put your foot down and say, we're not going to lose this game, and I was hoping that this would be it. The players are failing the team. I think Sheldon Keefe has failed the team a little bit. And, again, they have no one-- no one to blame but themselves.
