Scenic California Road Closed for Extensive Repairs From Winter Storm Damage

The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) said it is carrying out extensive repairs on State Route 2 in the Angeles National Forest, with parts of the route expected to remain closed until the end of summer due to winter storm damage.

Footage published by Caltrans shows work being carried out to repair erosion.

State Route 2 north of Los Angeles has been partially closed since February, when heavy snow hit southern California.

Caltrans said the section of the route between Mt Wilson Red Box Road and Grassy Hollow Campground was expected to remain closed “at least through summer due to excessive damage from winter storms.” Credit: Caltrans District 7 via Storyful
