What will Ryan O’Reilly do next?

Ryan O’Reilly has played just three games for the Maple Leafs since his blockbuster trade from the St. Louis Blues but the 32-year-old is already changing playoff expectations among Toronto fans. The former Blues captain has a hat-trick and five points on an explosive line with John Tavares and Mitch Marner. O'Reilly was the playoff MVP for the 2019 Stanley Cup-winning Blues.

OMAR: I'm TicTacTOmar, and I am not ashamed to admit that I was wrong. There was a time where I was a little apprehensive about a Ryan O'Reilly trade. The trade has happened and he has delivered on everything, everything advertised.

His two-way game is incredible. The way that he defends the ice is sick. He's great on the penalty kill. He literally gets scoring chances over and over again. Gets his first goal and then scores again and then scores again. And now he has like this sick unit with Tavares and Marner, the passion line, because they all grew up in Ontario and they grew up as Leafs fans. And it's just like, what else can come next from it?

And I'm not the only one freaking out about it. We're all freaking out about it. And again, Ryan O'Reilly has giving us a lot to freak out about.

And the thing that's incredible is that this isn't even the final form. I mean this is O'Reilly in the second line center spot. If Sheldon Keefe-- and based off what he talks about, he's thinking about it. If he goes back to having Matthews, Tavares, and O'Reilly as a 1-2-3, then imagine what else can happen. Imagine O'Reilly in the bottom three, and you put another player there who can finish and who can score and who's defensively reliable.

I don't know, man. I mean, for the longest time, we wanted Kyle Dubas to make the move. If this was ever a year to make the move, this was it, and he did it. We got one of the big fishes ahead of the deadline and it's working and it's paying off. And it's making me believe and that's making me scared.

But as of now, Ryan O'Reilly has been an incredible addition. And I cannot wait to see what he does next.
