Roof Torn Off House After Wild Storm Hits Mandurah, Western Australia

Damaging winds tore the roof off a house in Mandurah, Western Australia as the state was battered by wild weather on May 6.

Local state emergency services (SES) attended over 70 call outs throughout the region in the torrid conditions on May 6.

Video provided to Storyful by the Mandurah SES volunteer unit showed the aftermath of the storm at a property in the suburb of Halls Head.

“With our rescue teams battling it out in heavy rain and over 100km/hr winds, and our ops and comms teams manning the radios and allocating call outs back at base, we slowly signed off the jobs one by one,” the Mandurah SES unit posted to Facebook. Credit: Bec Burns – Mandurah SES via Storyful
