Passengers on Delayed Flight Treated to Irish Music Session

Passengers on board a delayed flight in Frankfurt, Germany, were treated to an impromptu traditional Irish folk music session as young players from County Cavan pulled out their instruments.

Video filmed on November 5 by Ged Armstrong shows the musicians, from a local branch of Comhaltas Ceoltoiri Eireann (Society of the Musicians of Ireland), on a tightly packed flight playing their various instruments.

Armstrong told Storyful the plane was bound for Ireland and had been delayed due to security issues when the band broke out their instruments to entertain their fellow passengers.

“It’s definitely one of those moments where you just feel so proud to be Irish,” says Armstrong in the video. Credit: Ged Armstrong via Storyful

We're, like, a full blown Irish traditional folk band over here.

- Oh!

[LIVELY IRISH MUSIC]

- Yup! Yup!

- It was genuinely like something out of a movie, just watching them pull all these instruments out.

- And they just kept coming. There were so many of them.

- It's definitely one of those moments where you just feel so proud to be Irish. Because where else are you going to get these vibes?

[LIVELY IRISH MUSIC]
