Melania Trump audio leaked: 'Who gives a f*** about Christmas stuff?'

First Lady Melania Trump’s former friend and adviser Stephanie Winston Wolkoff, author of Melania and Me, appeared on Anderson Cooper 360 Thursday where she revealed some less-than-flattering audio of Melania from phone calls the two of them had in the summer of 2018. In the audio, Melania is heard expressing her disdain for decorating the White House for Christmas and being asked by reporters about children that have been separated from their parents at the southern border when she’s trying to plan the decorations. And, as for those kids in cages, Melania also speaks of her trip to visit them in the recordings, and that infamous jacket she wore when she left. Though she said it was sad that the kids were separated from their parents, she believes they are actually better off in U.S. custody. She also complained that she tried, unsuccessfully, to reunite children with their parents and the “liberal media” wouldn’t report on it. As for the jacket, she joyfully spoke about “driving liberals crazy.”

MELANIA TRUMP: I'm driving liberals crazy. That's for sure. And that's-- you know, that's what's-- and they deserve it. You understand?

STEPHANIE WINSTON WOLKOFF: I know.

MELANIA TRUMP: And everybody's like oh my god this is the worst. This is the worst.

KYLIE MAR: Former friend and advisor to Melania Trump, Stephanie Winston Wolkoff, writer of the book "Melania and Me," appeared on Anderson Cooper 360 Thursday night, where she shared audio recordings of phone calls with the First Lady. Topics ranged from the jacket Melania wore reading "I really don't care, do you" as she left to visit caged children at the southern border to how she feels about decorating the White House for Christmas.

MELANIA TRUMP: I put the-- I'm working like a-- ass-- my ass off--

STEPHANIE WINSTON WOLKOFF: I know.

MELANIA TRUMP: --for that Christmas stuff that, you know, who gives a [BLEEP] about Christmas stuff and decoration. But I need to do it, right?

And then I do it and I sat that I'm working on Christmas planning for the Christmas. And they said, oh, what about the children that there were separated? Give me a [BLEEP] break.

KYLIE MAR: Melania also claimed that the children who had been separated from their parents were better off in US custody.

MELANIA TRUMP: They way they take care of them, it's-- you know, they even say, the kids they say, wow, I will have my own bed? I will sleep on the bed? I will have a cabinet for my clothes?

They didn't have that in-- in their own countries. They sleep on the floor. They are, you know--

STEPHANIE WINSTON WOLKOFF: There's nothing.

MELANIA TRUMP: They are taking care nicely there.

KYLIE MAR: Melania claimed that she tried to reunite children with their parents, but was unsuccessful. And complained that the media refused to run the story. But she refused to go to the friendly confines of Fox News.

MELANIA TRUMP: They would not do the story, because--

STEPHANIE WINSTON WOLKOFF: No.

MELANIA TRUMP: --they are not-- they would not do the story, because they-- they are against us because they're liberal media. Yeah, if I go to Fox, they will do the story. I don't want to go to Fox.

KYLIE MAR: And while some have viewed Melania as a sympathetic figure, Wilcox says she's part of the problem.

STEPHANIE WINSTON WOLKOFF: She's complicit in everything that's going on. I mean, instead of falling out of line, she towed the line. There are so many incredible things that the First Lady as an honorary position could be doing, should be doing.
