- So the Conor Timmons deal looks pretty sweet. I mean, a lot of people were pissed off about it initially because, you know, we gave-- had to give up Curtis Douglas in the process. And Curtis Douglas was a really large player. He's 6 foot 9. A lot of these fans were hoping that he would pan out and maybe be like a power forward on the team somehow.
Many people were making comparisons to the Denis Malgin trade where we gave up Mason Marchment. And he wanted-- he went on to have a pretty good year, pretty good run with Florida. Not that best with Dallas, but either way.
But regardless of that, Timmons looks pretty solid. I mean, he's actually-- you know, he's kind of got-- you know, paved a pretty solid place for himself with TJ Brodie. One thing I really like is his confidence in making those stretch plays, whether it's like stretch passes or just like, you know, point-- you know shots from the point, which is something that Leafs' defensemen have been doing a lot more of overall.
You know, granted there have been some lows. You know, Alex Ovechkin sent him into the bench, which was funny. But overall, I mean, I don't think you can hate what Timmons has done on the blue line. Now, I think the question I have is, what happens when the health starts to improve? Like, does Timmons see himself on the way out?
I hope he doesn't because, again, I like I like what he brings, I like what he's done. And you know, I think it's safe to say that Dubas is had another "this person used to play for the Sioux Greyhounds but it's working out" moment because, yes, Timmons looks pretty solid.
