Minty Bets, Jared Quay & Matt Gothard give their picks for the Packers-49ers game on Thursday Night.

Video Transcript

MINTY BETS: Week nine of the NFL kicks off with Thursday Night Football between the Green Bay Packers and the San Francisco 49ers. The Packers are laying 5 and 1/2 on the road here, and the total is at 50 and 1/2. Yikes. I will actually go first since I haven't been too hot in Thursday Night Football.

Now I got to go with the Packers here because the Niners don't have Jimmy G. Kittle's out for a while. They're very banged up, so why not take the Green Bay Packers minus 5 and 1/2? They have to bounce back from their loss to the Vikings. So, yeah, give me the Packers.

Matt, what about you? What do you think?

MATT GOTHARD: Well, just like you, I haven't been great on Thursday Night Football, and I'm also leaning towards the Packers in this one. When you look at Thursday Night Football this season, the underdogs have done really well. But the Niners team, they just seem to have too many pieces missing in this one. I like the Packers minus 5 and 1/2.

It could be an area, though, where I look for an alternate line of like minus 10 and 1/2. Because I think if they're gonna cover the 5, it's probably gonna be pretty easily. And if they're not gonna cover the 5, you're out of luck anyway. So I might look for an alternate line of minus 10 and 1/2 for like plus 187, plus 200. But I do like the Packers in this one, mainly because of the main stat that Aaron Rodgers is 11 and 0 against the spread following a game where they failed to cover.

MINTY BETS: I like it. Very risky. Jared, what about you?

JARED QUAY: I don't know the last time you guys seen the Green Bay Packers travel to San Francisco, but they lost by like 25 points each time. I know that San Francisco are beat up, but it gives a lot of guys who are fresh opportunities to come in on a short week. And on top of that, it's a home team.

I bet systems. Kyle Shanahan runs the ball effectively. He plays good defense. So 5 and 1/2 is just too much. They may lose his game, but it's a 3-point loss.

I'm going with the 49ers here. I hate to break up the slam dunk on the Packers here, but I think you can't bet the Niners at home. Can't bet against them.

MATT GOTHARD: I don't know if you remember the last time Nick Mullens started for the 49ers, but they lost to Carson Wentz and the Eagles. So that's all I need to know.
