Kern residents share concerns about the county's new trash tax

The rate increase and universal solid waste collection charges for residential areas come on the heels of California Senate Bill 1383, a bill aimed at reducing the state's greenhouse gas emissions by removing at least 75 percent of organic material from landfills by 2025. Several Kern County residents are making their disapproval of the plan known, many saying the plan is infeasible and puts too heavy a tax burden on low-income, disabled, and elderly residents. 23ABC's Breanna Polk has the story.
