John Oliver Compares Donald Trump to Bed of Nails

On Last Week Tonight with John Oliver, John went on another rant aimed toward Donald Trump. The host compared Trump to a bed of nails saying, “Trump hasn’t said one crazy thing, he’s said thousands of crazy things. Each of which blunts the effect of the others. It’s the bed of nails principle.” Oliver continued, “If you step on one nail, it hurts you. If you step on a thousand nails, no single one stands out and you’re fine.” John pointed out that there was one thing Donald recently said that does stand out and it was when Trump was being interviewed by George Stephanopoulos. A fallen soldier’s parents spoke at the Democratic National Convention and Trump had a surprising reaction to the mother, saying, “She was standing there, she had nothing to say, probably, maybe she wasn’t allowed to have anything to say, you tell me.” Oliver was shocked that Trump had anything negative to say about a dead soldier’s parents.
