Is James Conner a fantasy football risk?

During the Yahoo Fantasy live expert best ball draft, Liz Loza and Dalton Del Don look at how James Conner might fare in Pittsburgh for fantasy owners.

Video Transcript

LIZ LOZA: Well, I just forced a running back. I'm going to take James Conner, which didn't feel good. But here's the thing. I think that if we're coming out of the NFL draft and we're looking at winners and losers-- and, Dalton, you had a fire piece that came out a couple of days after the draft on that. James Conner, I believe you mentioned in your piece, because much to the surprise of everybody, the Steelers didn't really draft a running back, at least not as high as we anticipated that they would.

And if Chase Claypool and some of these other vertical threats are to stretch the field and Big Ben is healthy, then James Conner might have a little bit more to run. And like I said, it's May. Can't get hurt yet.

DALTON DEL DON: Yeah, McFarland is an interesting backup now, the rookie they drafted. But [? Conner's ?] [? only ?] scored like 12, 13 touchdowns, and he catches the ball. That said, they might have the best defense in the NFL, the Steelers, and he could be a three-down back.

So I get it. He might get hurt right away, and they'll have a short leash, and they're very fed up with him. But he also has a ton of upside. So I think right here in the draft is a great spot to get him.
