Cat Climbs on Imam During Ramadan Prayers at Algerian Mosque

A cat with no sense of decorum was unable to distract an imam during prayers in the Algerian province of Bordj Bou Arreridj on Monday, April 3, a video posted by the official page of the sheikh showed.

According to local reports, Sheikh Walid Mehsas was reciting nightly Taraweeh prayers, which occur each evening during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan, in Abu Bakr al-Siddiq mosque.

The video, posted on the sheikh’s official Facebook page, shows the cat wandering around the mosque as the prayers are being recited, before jumping on the sheikh, who appeared undisturbed and continued reciting the verses. Credit: Sheikh Walid Mehsas via Storyful
