Flash Flooding in Colorado Springs Prompts Road Closures

Flash flooding brought on by heavy rainfall caused road closures in Colorado Springs, Colorado, on Thursday, May 11.

The National Weather Service issued a flash flood warning for the area, indicating up to 1.5 inches of rain per hour was expected in some places.

The intersection between Black Forest Road and Vollmer Road would be closed until further notice as floodwater covered the streets, the Colorado Springs Fire Department (CSFD) said
