Explore Outdoors: A refreshing gem in Siskiyou County on the way to a magnificent mountain

On the way to one of Northern California's most magnificent mountains is a much shorter and easier natural gem than the climb to the top of 14,179-foot Mount Shasta. The less than one-mile hike, just off Interstate 5, begins near a wooden sign for Hedge Creek Falls. And while the falls may not be the biggest, tallest or widest of waterfalls, there is a unique cave feature that offers a cool payoff for visitors. To learn more about this waterfall and why another nearby waterfall is currently off-limits to the public, watch the video above.
