Deer 'Struggling' in Rough Tide Returns to Shore With Help From Surfer

A deer stuck on a rock in the ocean getting help from a surfer was not the scene a New Jersey photographer expected to witness when she headed down to Belmar Beach on October 1.

Adrienne Tully told Storyful that she was hoping to catch a beautiful sunrise that morning, but instead got to watch “a buck swim in the ocean then proceed to climb on the rocks twice.”

However, the animal’s adventurous spirit soon had him in trouble. “He was struggling as the incoming tide was rough that morning,” Tully said.
