Can Darrell Henderson continue his fantasy football domination?

FFL Flash Alert - Should you care about the Rams running back committee slowing down Darrell Henderson's fantasy production?

Video Transcript

MATT HARMON: The Rams backfield coming into this year was one of those units that I just didn't have a good feel for because I believed Sean McVay-- I believed that it would be a committee. And so far, that looks about right. After Malcolm Brown's great week one, Darrell Henderson has kind of taken [? this ?] show. And maybe Cam Akers comes back at some point and does make this a committee.

But I don't care about any of that this week. Because Darrell Henderson right now is one of the hottest [? 'backs ?] in the NFL. In fact, Pro Football Focus has him graded as the highest-rated running back in the NFL-- the best player at the position. That's incredible. He also ranks eight in next-gen stats, rushing yards over expectation. So he's not just been getting what's blocked for him, he's been creating.

And, frankly, just pop on the film. I think you see that Henderson right now, his eyes have caught up to his athleticism. He really kind of struggled to transition into that complex zone rushing scheme of the Rams in his rookie year. But now, all of the production that led to a great collegiate resume has met with the talent here in year two. And he looks like, clearly, the guy.

Now, you have Malcolm Brown, who's still going to be involved. Malcolm Brown actually ran more routes than him last week. So I think you've still got to feel that committee a little bit. But here's the deal-- you have to not care about that. You have to try to solve these complicated backfields. You can't just throw your hands up.

It's just like the Patriots all those years ago. I mean, we all had to try to figure out who was going to be the guy there because the Patriots offense was great-- and the Rams offense right now is great. In fact, they have the number one success rate from a rushing standpoint and a passing standpoint. They've been the most efficient offense in the NFL. So you have to try to get the feature back of that offense when you can.

And right now, live in the moment. Enjoy the fact that, Henderson, it's his time in the sun. And he gets to run against a Giants team that just looked lifeless last week. Give me a break, the Giants. Like, I'm willing to totally cancel them after losing to the 49ers [? JV team. ?]

So, yes, there might be a committee situation at some point again in LA-- but I don't care about that right now. I'm living in the moment and enjoying Darrell Henderson's ride to glory here.
