Civil Supplies Department launches program to avoid diversion of public distribution system of essential commodities

Civil Supplies Department in Telangana has launched a new program to avoid diversion of Public Distribution System (PDS) of rice and other essential commodities by utilising new technology. A command control centre with this latest technology has been designed and launched on Tuesday to watch and track vehicles carrying commodities and rice. This centre was inaugurated by Etela Rajendra, Minister of Finance, Telangana and CV Anand, IPS Civil Supplies Commissioner. A video wall with 210 inches width has been set up in civil supplies bhavan in Hyderabad which is one of the biggest in the state. As a pilot project, nine MLS supply godowns in Hyderabad have been installed with CCTV cameras in the program. This step has been taken to improve the surveillance on stock. Soon, a similar project will be started in other districts of the state.
