Prince William Gave a Rare Update on Kate Middleton's Health at Latest Royal Outing

She shared her cancer diagnosis back in March.

Prince William has been back to his usual royal duties, which means that while there hasn't been an official update from Kate Middleton as she undergoes treatment for cancer, there are chances for William to assure everyone that things are going as they should. According to The Mirror, William offered an update on Kate's health today as he met the finalists of his Earthshot Prize award in Seaham, County Durham, and Newcastle. During a ceremony that officially opened James' Place, which offers help to "men experiencing suicidal crisis in the area," he was asked about Kate by well-wishers.

"Do you mind if I ask how your wife and children are?" one asked. He replied, "All doing well, thank you. Yes, we're doing well."

William's visit to the area had a poignant symbolism: The Mirror notes that it has the "highest rates of male suicide in England."

Earlier in the day William also paid a visit to Low Carbon Materials, where he learned about carbon-negative construction products. He also met with officials from National Highways, which has partnered with Low Carbon Materials to incorporate net-zero materials into things like road repair.

"How do we get more people to see it...and know that this stuff is genuinely on the way to providing net-zero roads, in theory, the full cycle of net-zero homes," William said. "I mean there’s a world of things we could be doing here. I just think these guys are on to something."

Kate is continuing to undergo chemotherapy as William returns to work. After rumors began to spread as she stayed out of the spotlight before the announcement, the princess asked for "time, space, and privacy" as she and her family navigate her treatments.

Yesterday, Kate and William shared a never-before-seen photo to commemorate their 13th wedding anniversary, giving fans a hit of nostalgia as Middleton continues to recover away from the spotlight.
